Brad Bryant has finished second in each of the last three Champions Tour events. The last time that happened was back in 2000 when Larry Nelson posted three consecutive runner-up finishes. A good omen for Bryant, Nelson won his next time out.
More on Bryant: He's lost in playoffs in his last two events. The last player to suffer back-to-back playoff losses was Hale Irwin in the 1999 season.
There were only four playoffs on the Champions Tour in all of 2007, but there have been three already this year in just the first six events. It's the first time since 1995 that the first six events have seen that many playoffs.
Loren Roberts now has 18 consecutive par-or-better rounds. He holds the Tour record with 37 in a row. Jay Haas has 12 consecutive sub-par rounds. Gil Morgan holds the record with 31 in a row.
The Champions Tour is off this week but will return next week for the Ginn Championship at Hammock Beach. Former Masters champion Ian Woosnam is expected to make his Champions Tour debut in the tournament.
