Editor's Note: The Champions Tour players have long since made their mark on the PGA TOUR and Champions Tour record books. What were some of the more remarkable achievements from the Tour's top players from Jan. 31-Feb. 3?

1/31/83 -- Bob Gilder makes par on the eighth playoff hole to defeat Johnny Miller, Rex Caldwell and Mark O'Meara to win the Phoenix Open (for 2nd time), the last of his six PGA Tour crowns.

Mark O'Meara is a five-time winner at Pebble Beach.

1/31/88 -- Sandy Lyle made up seven strokes in Sunday's final round when he shot a closing-round 65 and earned a spot in a playoff with Fred Couples at the Phoenix Open. Despite a bogey on the third extra hole, Lyle prevailed over Couples for his fourth PGA TOUR crown.

2/1/81 -- After weather forces a Monday finish, John Cook makes par on the third playoff hole to win his first PGA TOUR title, besting Hale Irwin, Ben Crenshaw, Barney Thompson and Bobby Clampett at the Bing Crosby National Pro-Am.

2/1/76 -- Trailing Hale Irwin by three strokes after 54 holes, Ben Crenshaw fires a final-round 66 to claim the Hawaiian Open by four shots over Irwin and Larry Nelson.

2/2/97 -- Mark O'Meara makes it five career victories at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, holding off two of the PGA TOUR's hottest players in Tiger Woods and David Duval by one stroke. Woods carded rounds of 63-64 on the weekend and finishes with three straight birdies, while Duval shoots a 10-under-par 62 on Saturday and a 71 on Sunday which included birdies on Nos. 17 and 18. O'Meara earns his victory by shooting four consecutive 67s.

2/2/92 -- Mark O'Meara and Jeff Sluman each birdie the 72nd hole at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am to set up a playoff, but O'Meara's par on the first playoff hole is the difference as he wins the event for the fourth time and the third time in the last four years.

2/3/85 -- Less than five months after collecting his first victory, Mark O'Meara holds off a late charge by Larry Rinker, who birdies the final three holes at the Bing Crosby National Pro-Am. Rinker's heroics fall one short as he is one of three players to finish one behind O'Meara. It would be the first of five titles at Pebble Beach for O'Meara.
