Bart Bryant made $1 million in two events in a span of four starts last year. Achieving more consistency throughout the rest of the season will be the key in 2009 for the three-time PGA TOUR champion. The first of those big paydays came at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard as Bryant went mano y mano against Tiger Woods, who rolled in a dramatic 25-footer on the 72nd hole to win by one. He also finished third at the EDS Byron Nelson Championship, four strokes out of the playoff between Adam Scott and Ryan Moore. Bryant is the quintessential later bloomer after a series of injuries conspired to send him back to q-school five times since he first got his card in 1990. He's won three times since 2003 elbow surgery, though, and has 15 top-10s. -- Helen Ross

Bart's perhaps a step or two slower than he was a decade ago but savvy means more than brawn some weeks.
