MORE TOP 100 PLAYERS: BACK to Player No. 65 | FORWARD to Player No. 63 | Top 100 archive

Ben Crane starts the 2009 season free and clear after taking advantage of a Major Medical Extension and finishing 64th on the money list last year. Lower back problems had limited Crane to just nine events in 2007. Once recovered, he started last year strong, though, with ties for 12th in Hawaii, fourth in Phoenix and 12th at The Honda Classic to show that there were no residual affects. Crane also picked up a tie for sixth at THE PLAYERS Championship and added a solo fifth at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial in his next start. He ranked 14th on TOUR in birdies, 18th in putting and 12th in the all-around category. -- Helen Ross
