Heath Slocum will be looking for a fresh start in 2009. Not that he played poorly last year, quite the contrary with his fifth straight season hitting seven figures in earnings. He just didn't sustain it over the entire season. Midway through the 2008 season, Slocum got on a roll -- posting three top-10s in six starts that included a tie for ninth at the U.S. Open, his highest finish ever in a major. He followed that performance with a solo fourth at the Travelers Championship -- his best finish in more than a year, since the 2007 PODS Championship. In his next 12 tournaments, though, Slocum only finished higher than 32nd once. He closed out his season with a tie for 60th at the Children's Miracle Network Classic presented by Wal-Mart that couldn't have left a good taste in his mouth. -- Helen Ross

Another of the truly nice guys on TOUR. But Heath has a little edge, too, and wants more.
