Fred Couples could be hitting duck hooks on the practice range and people would still sit in the stands and watch him. The 2009 season, though, offers special incentive as Couples prepares to captain the U.S. squad in The Presidents Cup. The 15-time TOUR champ can still play, too. He had three top-10s in his first nine starts of 2008, including a tie for fourth at the Shell Houston Open where the smooth-swinging Couples picked up his last victory in 2003. Couples turns 50 next year on Oct. 3 -- the weekend before The Presidents Cup is held at Harding Park in San Francisco. An American victory would be a great send-off for one of the game's favorite sons. -- Helen Ross
