| Padraig Harrington will aim for the "Paddy Slam" in 2009. He won the last two majors and three of the last six, so he'll go to Augusta National with a golden opportunity. If Tiger Woods makes the Masters his '09 debut, Paddy could go in under the radar, which is just the way he likes it.
Harrington, who tied for fifth at the '08 Masters, was solid though not spectacular until he got to Royal Birkdale to defend his first major. He closed with a 69 on a windy day to overtake 53-year-old Greg Norman, then made a 15-foot par putt at the last to hold off Sergio Garcia and Ben Curtis at the PGA.
Physically and emotionally spent, Harrington, who started the Playoffs in fourth place, didnt make it to the finale. But he's sure to have motivation in '09 for both the FedExCup and Race to Dubai.
