A trio of top-four finishes in his last seven starts should provide momentum in 20009 for Mathew Goggin, who has continued to improve each of the last three seasons.
Goggin earned just under $2 million, which was a career best, and posted the second runner-up finish of his career. The 34-year-old Aussie led each of the first three rounds at the Memorial, but closed with a 74 to finish two strokes behind an inspired Kenny Perry.
Goggin also contended at The Honda Classic but bogeys on three of his last four holes left him four strokes behind Ernie Els. He ended the season on a positive note, too, with a pair of 63s contributing to a third-place finish at the Frys.com Open. -- Helen Ross
