Billy Mayfair has got to wonder whether 2009 will be the year he breaks a 10-year victory drought. The five-time PGA TOUR champ came tantalizingly close with two runner-up finishes last year -- bringing his career total to 15. Mayfair closed with a 71 to slip into a tie for second at the POD Championship while four rounds in the 60s left him solo second at the RBC Canadian Open. In a show of class after he finished, Mayfair waited to congratulate Chez Reavie, also an Arizona State alum. Two areas of concern for Mayfair are putting and his performance on the weekends. He ranks 167th in putts per round and 176th in putting average. Mayfair's third round scoring average is 121st on TOUR while his final-round mark is 101st. -- Helen Ross
