Rory Sabbatini is nothing if not competitive, so it's probably safe to say that he is looking at the 2009 season as a fresh start. After all, with the exception of the Sony Open in Hawaii, the four-time PGA TOUR champion was never really in the hunt last year. Sabbatini put on a spirited Sunday bid to overtake K.J. Choi at Waialae C.C. but wound up finishing four strokes behind. He tied for third in his next start, but that was at the Buick Invitational where Tiger Woods won by eight shots. The young South African went 18 more tournaments before notching another top-10 at the Valero Texas Open. He finished 56th on the money list and 69th in the FedExCup after placing fourth in the season-long bonus competition in 2007. -- Helen Ross
