Stewart Cink will start his 2009 campaign on Maui for the first time in four years after finally getting that elusive fifth PGA TOUR victory at the Travelers Championship.
The former Georgia Tech All-American had squandered two other chances earlier in the year -- although he ran into a buzz saw named Tiger Woods in the finale of the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship in one. So the win in Hartford was particularly sweet.
Cink was on fire as the 2008 season opened, posting six top-10s, including two seconds and two thirds, in his first 10 starts. His $3.9 million in earnings was a career high, and Cink capped the successful year with a berth on the U.S. Ryder Cup team.
