After a PGA TOUR high of 10 top-10 finishes but no victories, Jim Furyk will go into 2009 hungrier than ever. The 12-time champ has not won since the Canadian Open in 2007, although he continues to put himself in the mix. Furyk came closest at the World Golf Championships-CA Championship, where he tied for second behind the rock-steady Geoff Ogilvy. But he had five other top-five finishes, including two thirds and a tie for fifth at the 137th Open Championship. He was eighth in the FedExCup and didn't finish lower than 12th in any of the Playoff events, capping that run with a tie for sixth at THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola. He earned the winning point for the USA at the Ryder Cup, too, taking down Miguel Angel Jimenez by a 2-and-1 margin. -- Helen Ross

Jim's always there, always solid and usually a factor. Besides, he is a really nice guy and easy to pull for.
