TOURNAMENT RECAP: Lanny Wadkins hung on Saturday, when the average score was 77.5, despite the almost unplayable conditions that saw 14 players shoot in the 80s. Then in 45 mph winds on the final day, he came up with a gritty 72 for a five-shot Victory over Tom Watson. On the final hole he chipped to within 12 feet and finished with a birdie that culminated in a performance people still talk about to this day.
