What Chris Condon said about this photo...

"El Gato" - "During the Charles Schwab Cup Championship in Sonoma, I was asked to get a nice portrait of Eduardo Romero. There were two problems. One, I had no studio lights with me, and two, the weather had turned ugly. It rained all weekend. I was taking a few photos of caddies drying out their bags and clubs in the basement cart barn where the media center was also located. When I looked at the images, I saw that the adobe-style wall would make a nice backdrop. Trying the same technique I used on a Jim Furyk portrait earlier this year, I posed Romero against the wall with his bag and used my on-camera flash to spotlight his upper half and let the light fall away with a wide-angle lens. The effect was just what I wanted."
