Lowest first 36 holes: Carl Pettersson tied Tiger Woods, Mark Calcavecchia, Tom Lehman and Corey Pavin as for the lowest opening 36-hole score at an event. Pettersson fired a 64-61 at the par-70 Sedgefield CC en route to his victory at the 2008 Wyndham Championship (15-under)

Most career wins: Tigers Woods won four times in 2008, bringing his career total to 65 wins and passing Ben Hogan (64 wins) as the third all-time victory leader. Only Sam Snead (82 wins) and Jack Nicklaus (73 wins) are ahead of Woods in the record books.

Most victories, one course: Tiger Woods became the outright leader with his victories at the Buick Invitational and U.S. Open, bringing his total to seven wins at Torrey Pines GC in La Jolla, Calif. Four players won six times on the same course: Alex Ross at Pinehurst (North & South Open), Sam Snead at Miami Springs G&CC (Miami Open), Jack Nicklaus at Augusta National GC (Masters Tournament), and Tiger Woods at Firestone CC (Bridgestone Invitational).

Most consecutive victories in a single event: Tiger Woods became the only player in history to win two different events four times consecutively. Woods' streak is alive at the Buick Invitational with wins from 2005-2008 and he also won the Bay Hill Invitational 2000-2003. Three other players have won the same event in four consecutive years: Tom Morris, Jr. (British Open, 1868-1870, (no event in 1871), 1872), Walter Hagen (PGA Championship, 1924-1927) and Gene Sarazen (Miami Open, 1926 (schedule change), 1928-1930).

First two wins in same tournament (since 1960): J.B. Holmes and Boo Weekley joined only six other players who won the first two events of their career at the same event. Holmes won at the FBR Open this year and in 2006, and Weekley successfully defended his 2007 victory with another win at the Verizon Heritage.

Most wins by players after 40 years old: Vijay Singh added three more wins to his margin over Sam Snead in this category. Singh is the all-time leader with 22 wins to Snead's 17.

Major Championship Wins: With his U.S. Open victory, Tiger Woods got one win closer to Jack Nicklaus' record. Woods has 14 major wins in 11 years from 1997-2008 (4 Masters, 3 U.S. Opens, 3 British Opens, 4 PGAs). Nicklaus' 18 major wins spanned 25 years from 1962-1986 (6 Masters, 4 U.S. Opens, 3 British Opens, 5 PGAs).

Most consecutive years with $1,000,000 or more in earnings: Phil Mickelson tied Davis Love III with 13 consecutive million-dollar-plus seasons from 1996-2008.

Most years with $1,000,000 or more in earnings: Vijay Singh and Phil Mickelson are within one season of Davis Love III's record of 14 years. Sing and Mickelson have 13, and Tiger Woods is in third place with 12.

Most money won in a season without victory: Jim Furyk became the second-highest earner in a single season without a win, taking home $3,455,714 in 2008 at 26 events. Only Sergio Garcia made more without a win, with $3,721,185 in 2007 at 19 events.

Most consecutive years finishing top 10 on money list: Tiger Woods moved past Arnold Palmer in second place with a streak of 12 years from 1997-2008. Jack Nicklaus is the all-time leader with 17 consecutive years in the top-10.

First-year players to win $1 million or more: Andres Romero joined this group with winnings of $2,064,612 in 2008. There are now a total of 37 players who have accomplished this, with Trevor Immelman atop the list with his $3,844,189 in 2006.
