VILAMOURA, Portugal (AP) -- Stuart Manley of Wales shot a 4-under 68 Friday to open a two-stroke clubhouse lead in the second round of the Portugal Masters.
Manley had an eagle and two birdies on the back nine to total 11 under. He shot 65 Thursday for his lowest European Tour score and the first-round lead.
Magnus Carlsson and Paul Lawrie were tied for second. Lawrie shot a bogey-free 65, while Magnusson had seven birdies in a 66.
European Order of Merit leader Robert Karlsson of Sweden was a late starter along with Lee Westwood of England, who is third on the money list despite not winning a tournament this year.
Colin Montgomerie was out of the top 100 after recording a 76 after his first-round 73.
