Rookie Dustin Johnson earned his first victory in his 28th start as a professional on the PGA TOUR. The win carries with it an automatic two-year exemption and the first-place prize money of $1.08 million catapulted him 87 positions on the 2008 money list, from 128th to 41st. With five official-money events remaining in the season, this puts Johnson approximately $350,000 away from the current 30th position on the money list ($2.06 million). If Johnson can perform well in the final events of the Fall Series and finish in the top 30, he will gain an automatic exemption to the 2009 Masters and U.S. Open.
