SUTTON COLDFIELD, England (AP) -- Alexander Noren of Sweden moved up to share the British Masters lead with Lee Westwood Saturday after finishing off a 6-under 66 when the fog-delayed second round was completed.
The start of play was delayed by more than three hours on Friday, leaving 72 players unable to finish their round. There was another fog delay at The Belfry on Saturday, and the third round would not be completed until Sunday.
Noren, a 26-year-old from Stockholm who played at Oklahoma State University, had four holes of his round to complete. He started with a birdie on the sixth and parred the remaining three for a bogey-free round. Noren is still seeking his first European Tour victory after finishing 20th at this year's British Open, his first major.
"That will be my goal, to play more majors. Playing at that level and being up there for all four rounds, I could see what I need to do with my game," he said. "Statistically, I'm average on everything. Putting has been a problem, but I putted great today."
On Friday, Westwood took the lead with a 70 for a 6-under 138 total as he aimed to shake off Europe's Ryder Cup loss and defend his title.
Alejandro Canizares and Thongchai Jaidee both shot a 68 to sit a stroke behind the leaders, along with Marc Warren (71) and Ross Fisher (68).
Graeme McDowell, the only other Ryder Cup team member playing here, shot an erratic 75 but still made the halfway cut with a 3-over total.
Colin Montgomerie on Friday completed a 3-under 69 but still missed the cut after an opening-round 81.
