Editor's note: PGA TOUR veteran Carl Paulson is making his second trip to visit the troops in Iraq this week. He'll be writing a blog periodically for PGATOUR.COM. This is his first installment.

We just finished our visit to Kuwait. We did clinics at Arif Jan Army Base and KNB (Kuwait Naval Base). The clinics were full of all walks of life. Some came to pound balls, some came out of curiosity and some came to simply talk.
College football is topic that most, if not all, of these great soldiers love to talk about. Since my beloved (South Carolina) Gamecocks aren't a powerhouse yet, I backed my SEC pretty well today. We took a cool patrol boat ride in the Persian Gulf today. It was 120 degrees and high humidity on the water.
Tomorrow morning we are headed in to Iraq for eight days. This was my favorite part of the trip last year. In Iraq we get to visit very small FOBs (Forward Operating Bases). The clinics we put on at these FOBs are very interactive and many times we get to sit and talk to guys for a hour or two. I am really looking forward to it.
I don't know when we will have Internet access again but hopefully soon you will be getting another update.
God Bless America,
Carl Paulson
