PGA TOUR SHOT TRACKER: Follow any group on the course

Carl Pettersson, Garrett Willis
Tee time:
2:05 p.m.
Tee: No. 1
Total TOUR wins: 2
Why you should watch: Pettersson stole the show on Friday when he threatened to birdie every hole on the course, but let's take a look at Willis. Willis is another one of the talented players to come out of the highly-underrated golf program at East Tennessee State. He's bounced around the PGA TOUR and Nationwide Tour this year, but he's caught fire in Greensboro, racking up 11 birdies and an eagle (against only one bogey). He starts Round 3 with a three-shot deficit to Pettersson, but at 213th in the FedExCup standings, this is the chance of a lifetime for the Charlotte native.

2008 Stat Comparison
Player Events Played Cuts Made 1st 2nd 3rd Top 10 Top 25 Scoring Avg.
Pettersson 21 17 -- -- -- 4 10 71.22
Willis 9 4 -- -- -- -- 1 72.50

Scott McCarron, Kevin Streelman
Tee time: 1:55 p.m.
Tee: No. 1
Total TOUR wins: 3
Why you should watch: McCarron is a three-time winner on TOUR who has battled injuries in recent years, but the 43-year-old can still play on a very high level. His 64 on Friday thrust him within four shots of Pettersson. McCarron is one of the guys on the FedExCup bubble (139th) this week, but he's been on a roll -- he tied for fifth in the RBC Canadian Open after a 63 in the third round. Streelman is 114th in FedExCup standings, but he's played much better than that indicates in his rookie season. This might be his week to win on TOUR.

2008 Stat Comparison
Player Events Played Cuts Made 1st 2nd 3rd Top 10 Top 25 Scoring Avg.
McCarron 16 6 -- -- -- 1 2 71.74
Streelman 23 16 -- -- -- 1 3 71.40

Steve Marino, Charles Warren
Tee time: 1:05 p.m.
Tee: No. 1
Total TOUR wins: 0
Why you should watch: Marino has done everything but win in his sophomore season. Like Streelman, its not question of whether of if he will win, but when. At 35th in the FedExCup points, Marino has a chance to copy Brandt Snedeker's 2007 run to the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup, when Snedeker won on the final week of the Regular Season to secure a top-10 seed.

2008 Stat Comparison
Player Events Played Cuts Made 1st 2nd 3rd Top 10 Top 25 Scoring Avg.
Marino 23 19 -- 1 1 4 9 70.62
Warren 21 8 -- -- 1 1 3 72.46
