The cut came at 3-under 137 with 78 players making it to the weekend.

While Carl Pettersson took full advantage of the scoring conditions at Sedgefield Country Club to shoot 61 in the second round, many others moved up the leaderboard. Some, on the other hand, weren't so lucky.

Positive movers

J.J. Henry. At No. 177 in the FedExCup standings, Henry may have caught a break. He advanced 44 spots up the leaderboard and into the weekend. Friday's 66 helped him make the cut and gave him a chance at earning enough points to make the first event in the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup.

Paul Casey. Casey hasn't finished outside the top 15 in the past three events. On Thursday, he was tied for 89th and in danger of missing the cut. But his streak might not end in Greensboro, since he shot a 4-under 66 on Friday and will be around on Saturday and Sunday.

Mathias Gronberg. One of the biggest movers of the day, Gronberg's 6-under 64 propelled him from a tie for 116th all the way into the top 30. He made seven birdies and one bogey and has two more days to play in Greensboro.

Negative movers

Chad Collins. He was tied for 30th after a first-day 67 but had a six-stroke swing with his Friday score to shoot a five-bogey, two-birdie 73. Collins dropped into a tie for 99th and had to head home early.

Tim Herron. Lucky for Herron, he's 130th on the FedExCup points list and should be safely in the first event in the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup. However, his 4-over 74 on Friday dropped him from 50th into a tie for 122nd and sent him packing in Greensboro.

Mathew Goggin. Goggin didn't follow up Thursday's 68 as he would have liked. He began his day well, scoring three consecutive birdies on the front nine, but derailed his round with a double bogey at No. 8. He made five bogeys after that and fell into a tie for 122nd after beginning the day tied for 50th.

On the number

Martin Laird. He was both a negative mover and a guy on the number. Laird began Friday tied for the lead but had an extremely up-and-down second round. He started his round on the back nine where he made two bogeys, a birdie and a triple bogey then had two more birdies, a double bogey and a bogey for a 74.

Bob Estes. He jumped from a tie for 116th into the 3-under spot on the leaderboard. Estes needed an eagle and three birdies to make it but will stick around for the weekend.

John Daly. Daly's 67 in the second round helped him make the cut on the number. This is just the fourth cut Daly has made this season.

Notable missed cuts

Vijay Singh. The Big Fijian followed up Thursday's 69 with a 71 to sit tied for 111th. He won't make the weekend but now has two extra days to rest up for The Barclays. After all, he's in the top 10 in FedExCup points and has a shot at the trophy.

Kevin Stadler. When Stadler had to exit Greensboro early, it meant more than just a paycheck-less week. At No. 145 on the FedExCup points list, he needed to make the weekend to stand a chance at moving into the top 144 and making The Barclays. His 2-under 68 on Friday was too little, too late, as Stadler missed the cut by one.

Craig Kanada. Like Stadler, Kanada was a bubble boy. He was ranked 146th in FedExCup points and counted on the final tournament before the Playoffs to help improve his position. Looks like Kanada will now have to sit out the four-event series.
