SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Arron Oberholser will undergo surgery to remove a bone spur in his left hand on Tuesday. His recovery time is expected to be as long as two months. He hopes to return to the PGA TOUR by the end of this season.
The injury may have developed last year when Oberholser played for five months with a fractured hamate bone before having surgery on that in October. Oberholser this year has played in only eight events, making the cut in seven, but finishing no higher in a stroke-play event than a share of 25th at the Masters.
The surgery will be performed by Dr. Thomas Graham, Surgeon-in-Chief of the Arnold Palmer SportsHealth Center in Baltimore.
