Jeff Overton, Tom Pernice
Tee time: 1:50 p.m.
Tee: No. 1
Total TOUR wins: 4
Why you should watch: Overton came into the AT&T National having missed six cuts in his last seven starts, but the 25-year-old found his game during British Open qualifying last week. Overton dropped a 63 during British Open qualifying to qualify for Royal Birkdale, and he proceeded to shoot 66-65 to share the second-round lead with Pernice. Overton has struck the ball perfectly this week, and it would surprise no one if he became another under-30 winner on the PGA TOUR. He will play on Saturday with Pernice, who birdied seven of the final 11 holes to shoot 63 in Round 2.

Anthony Kim, Cliff Kresge
Tee time:
1:40 p.m.
Tee: No. 1
Total TOUR wins: 1
Why you should watch: Kim was expected to play well at Congressional -- his all-around game is well-suited to Congressional -- but Kresge is a wild card. Kresge is enjoying the best year of his TOUR career, but the 39-year-old has missed three straight cuts since scoring a top-10 at the Memorial Tournament presented by Morgan Stanley. Kresge is an excellent iron player who makes birdies in bunches, and if he gets going in Round 3, look out.

Rod Pampling, Steve Stricker
Tee time:
1:30 p.m.
Tee: No. 1
Total TOUR wins: 6
Why you should watch: Stricker has mysteriously struggled since early spring, but the hot weather this week has kick-started his game. Stricker produced a 64 on Friday that was the best round of the week until Pernice came in with a 63. Stricker, one of the best putters on TOUR, used only 26 putts in the second round. Stricker's 64 on Friday could have been much lower -- he didn't birdie either of Congressional's par-5s.
