Mar. 30, 2008

All times are Central.

Nick Watney, Shigeki Maruyama
Tee time:
12:42 p.m. CT
Tee: No. 1
Total TOUR wins: 4
Why you should watch: Defending Zurich Classic of New Orleans champion Nick Watney isn't ready to surrender his title just yet. On Friday, Watney fired a 5-under-par round of 67 to soar up the leaderboard and into contention. Saturday on the PGA TOUR is known as "moving day" and if Watney could put himself into a position for Sunday to become the first player to win the Zurich Classic in consecutive years since Carlos Franco turned the trick in 1999 and 2000. Maruyama, on the other hand, is looking for his first strong finish of the 2008 season and is in fine position.

Tim Clark, Marco Dawson
Tee time:
12:24 p.m. CT
Tee: No. 1
Total TOUR wins: 0
Why you should watch: With a 6-under-par 66 that included a hole-in-one on the ninth hole, Clark moved into contention at the Zurich Classic and will start the round at 5 under, three shots back. The South African is looking for his first win on the PGA TOUR and few tournaments have been more kind to first-time victors than the Zurich Classic which has 16 of them in all. Dawson is continuing his solid play after a tie for sixth last week in Puerto Rico.

John Merrick, Parker McLachlin
Tee time:
12:06 p.m. CT
Tee: No. 1
Total TOUR wins: 0
Why you should watch: Perhaps inspired by his UCLA Bruins, who are playing brilliantly in the men's NCAA basketball tournament, John Merrick unleashed a 5-under-par 67 on Friday to move to 5 under for the tournament. He'll need another stellar round on Saturday to position himself for his first TOUR win on Sunday. McLachlin started the year like a bandit, but has struggled recently. Prior to this week, he had missed cuts in his last two starts.

Merrick 8 6 -- -- 1 1 4 69.71
