A native of South Africa, Rory Sabbatini began playing golf at age 4, but concentrated on it from the age of 12. He was recruited by the University of Arizona, turned pro in 1998 and joined the PGA TOUR in 1999. He was the youngest member of the PGA TOUR that year.
In September 2007, Sabbatini reached the Top 10 of the Official World Golf Rankings for the first time. He finished the year fourth on the PGA TOUR's FedExCup Points standings. Sabbatini has represented South Africa in the World Cup four times and won the event with Trevor Immelman in 2003. Rory travels around the country in a tour bus with his family when competing on the PGA TOUR.
Sabbatini's Support of Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund
Sabbatini is honored to participate on behalf of the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, which helps to support severely wounded military heroes and their families. He and his wife, Amy, have dedicated themselves to the mutual goals of the Fund. Rory truly believes in the importance of supporting our troops and their families, particularly during this time in the world's history. He continues to work hard and play the best golf possible to continue promoting this worthwhile cause. Rory would like to thank the players and sponsors for all of their efforts and donations, as well as the troops -- whom he believes are the real heroes.
