It might have been the definitive performance of the 2008 PGA TOUR Qualifying School to date.

Four-time PGA TOUR winner Notah Begay III shot himself into the final stage with a brilliant 65 in the final round in Lantana, Texas on Saturday. Begay's 7-under round was the low round of the week at the Lantana Golf Club.

Begay is fighting to regain full status on the PGA TOUR after playing 12 events or fewer since 2005. He fell out of the Official World Golf Ranking after making three of nine cuts in 2008.

Paul Stankowski, a two-time winner on TOUR, shot a 68 to easily advance into the finals, which begin Dec. 3 at PGA West in California. Jimmy Walker, who lost his PGA TOUR card after earning just $282,249 in 2008, was the medalist at Lantana Golf Club.

Sang-Moon Bae, a two-time winner on the Asian Tour, is bidding to come one of the youngest PGA TOUR members for 2009. The 22-year-old South Korean shot a 64 in the final round at Oak Valley Golf Club in Beaumont, Calif. to earn a trip into the finals. Canadian Jim Rutledge was the medalist after a 65 on Saturday.

Rich Barcelo, who is trying to secure a PGA TOUR card for the third time after a stint on the Nationwide Tour in 2008, qualified for the finals after a solid 67 on Saturday.

The finals get under way with three full days of practice rounds on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1-2. The six-round tournament will be split between PGA West's Nicklaus Tournament Course and the TPC Stadium Course. Players that finished between 126th and 150th on the final PGA TOUR money list earn an entry straight into the finals.

The GOLF Channel will televise the final three rounds.
