Does it surprise anyone that Rocco Mediate made the biggest jump in the FedExCup standings last week? After his performance in the U.S. Open, he moved up 79 spots in the rankings. However, Mediate and the rest of the PGA TOUR will have a hard time catching you-know-who.

Last week:U.S. Open
This week: Travelers Championship
Complete FedExCup standings

Biggest mover: Rocco Mediate
He moved: 79 spots, from 127th to 48th
Because: He finished second at the U.S. Open.
Nothing like a second-place finish in a major to move you up the FedExCup standings. Mediate didn't just move up, he moved from out of the 125-man playoff field into the top 50. That notwithstanding, Mediate's run last week wasn't totally unexpected. He tied for sixth at the Memorial.

ogilvy.jpg

Welcome to the top five: Geoff Ogilvy
He moved: Two spots, from seventh to fifth
Because: He tied for ninth at the U.S. Open
Sure, there's reason for Ogilvy to be a bit disappointed. Bogeys on Nos. 16 and 17 on Sunday dropped him out of contention and led to a final-round 74. Still, Sunday brought Ogilvy's third consecutive top-10 finish and his sixth top-10 in 14 starts in 2008.

villegas.jpg

Welcome to the top 50: Camilo Villegas
He moved: 11 spots, from 52nd to 41st
Because: He tied for ninth at the U.S. Open.
Villegas was consistent all week at Torrey Pines. He now has three top-10 finishes in his past six TOUR starts and appears to be knocking on the door of that elusive first career win yet again. Incidentally, Villegas leads the TOUR in par-5 birdie percentage at more than 50 percent.

Welcome to the top 100: Lee Westwood
He moved: 52 spots, from 124th to 72nd
Because: He finished third in the U.S. Open.
If only. If only that putt on the 72nd hole had fallen. It didn't and Westwood didn't make Monday's thrilling playoff. As it is, Westwood ended up with his best TOUR finish of the season. That's not to say he's exactly struggled. After all, he's got four top-20 finishes in seven TOUR starts in 2008.

woods.jpg

Good luck catching: Tiger Woods
He moved: Zero spots, from first to first
Because: He won the U.S. Open.
Four wins in six starts. Six top-10 finishes in six starts. A nearly 7,000-point lead. Sounds insurmountable, right? Not exactly. His post-tournament comments Monday left open when Woods will once again tee it up. It looks as though the only thing that could stop Tiger is -- his knee.
