Player: Nicholas Thompson
Position: 35th
Points: 4,110
Thompson would move to sixth in the FedExCup standings with a win this week, and he'd become the 10th under-30 winner on TOUR this year. Thompson's points per start average (257) is the lowest of anyone in the top 45, but his 16 starts is the most of anyone on TOUR.
Player: Paul Goydos

Goydos jumped 104 spots in the FedExCup rankings with his second-place finish at THE PLAYERS Championship last week, up to 42nd. With another second-place finish this week, Goydos could move to 14th. He could move to seventh with a win.
Player: Kevin Sutherland
Position: 43rd
Points: 3,644
Sutherland would move into the top 10 in the FedExCup points standings with a win this week. Sutherland is the model of consistency -- he is averaging 304 points per start this year, compared to 295 last year, and he earned 375 points at the 2007 AT&T Classic. Overall, he is within 120 points of where he was last year at this point in the season.

Elkington was the 90th seed last year in the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup, but has already earned more points this year than in all of last year. With his T16 finish here last year, Elkington earned 375 points, just ahead of his current season average of 328 points per start.
Player: Ben Crane
Position: 47th
Points: 3,568
Crane is playing much better in 2008 than he did last year -- he has nearly tripled his average points per start, with 324 pps this year, versus only 115 last year. He was 143rd in the points standings after the 2007 EDS Byron Nelson, but didn't play again in the FedExCup season.
Player: Kenny Perry
Position: 56th
Points: 3,174 pts
Perry could move into the top 10 with a victory this week. He has 9 wins in his career - the only player in the field with more is David Toms, with 12. Among players who've won since the beginning of 2005, Kenny Perry is 10th in wins, with nine.
Player: Retief Goosen
Position: 59th
Points: 3,083 pts
Goosen's points per start average (343) should put him in the top 35 in the FedExCup points standings, but he has only nine starts prior to this week, versus the average of 12 starts for the top players at this point in the season.
Player: Heath Slocum
Position: 79th
Points: 2,220
