FedExCup notes: Wachovia Championship third round

Jason Bohn
Position: 101st
Starting the week with only 1,499 points, Bohn could move in to the top-15 in the standings with a win. Look for Bohn to keep his pace in the final two rounds, as he ranks sixth in third round scoring and is tied for 11th in final round scoring.

Anthony Kim
Position: 31st
Kim left last year's Wachovia Championship 28th in the FedExCup standings with 4,702 points, but he only earned 1,311 the rest of the season and entered the playoffs in 42nd position. He needs to have a better second half of the season this year to take advantage of his good start.

Dudley Hart
Position: 48th
With 2,925 points, a win would move Hart into the top-10 in the standings and give him a very good chance at entering the playoffs in a top-30 position.

Jim Furyk
Position: 19th
Furyk is well-positioned for another top-10 seed, if he can win again this year. If he wins this event, he can move to 3rd in the standings. If Furyk maintains his current average points per start (473), he projects to the 16 seed in the Playoffs. If he can add a victory to that mix, he should be a fifth or sixth seed.

Camilo Villegas
Position: 85th
Villegas is a perfect example of how much difference a stroke or two can make. At the Buick Invitational, he was tied for 13th -- 442 points, but two strokes better was a tie for eighth -- 725 points, a 283-point difference. At the Verizon Heritage, two strokes better was 272 points better. With those extra points, he'd be 20 spots higher in the FedExCup standings.

Heath Slocum
Position: 114th
At this time last year Slocum was 24th in the standings and he entered the playoffs in 29th. Averaging only 122 points per start, he will really need to pickup the pace in the second half if he hopes to repeat last year's success.

Ben Curtis
Position: 162nd
Without a top-10 finish in nine starts this year, Curtis has only amassed 505 points -- equating to about 56 per start. With a top-10 finish Curtis will double his current point total.

Paul Goydos
Position: 160th
After winning the Sony Open in Hawaii in 2007, Goydos was in 20th place in the standings at this time last year. He did not add too much to his total after his win and entered the playoffs in 53rd. He will need to earn more than 47 points per event, his current average, if he wants to make the playoffs this year.

Robert Allenby
Position: 32nd
With 4,055 points Allenby is about 1,900 points behind his pace of last year. He entered last year's playoffs in 27th, but he will need to record a few more top-10s if he hopes to have a good position again this year.

Geoff Ogilvy
Position: 4th
Ogilvy is quietly becoming a true powerhouse. Among players with a win this year, only Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson have a higher points per start average in their non-winning starts.

Vijay Singh
Position: 5th
Vijay Singh is having a good season despite not having a victory thus far. However, last year Singh was in first place in the FedExCup standings entering the Wachovia Championship. This year he could move into second with a win.
