A number of players in the field stand to make big jumps in the FedExCup standings if they can match their average points earned. Over half of the top 30 "points-earners per event played" are in the field, and maintaining that average this week with a top 15 finish would move any of them up in the points standings.

Several players who did well in 2007 are doing even better this year, including three who had top t0 finishes at Verizon last year. Of the players who finished among the top 70 seeds for the 2007 PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup, the players below are the ones who've had an even better season so far this year. Ernie Els, who finished second at the '07 Verizon Heritage, needs only a top 25 finish this year to maintain last year's pace.
