Ernie Els has withdrawn from this week's Deutsche Bank Championship in Boston.
The world No. 4 will spend the week at his Wentworth, London, home supervising family matters and miss this week's round of the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup.
"I have been on the road now for almost eight weeks and it is important that I return home where my children will be preparing for their return to school," said Els after finishing fourth in the weekend's Barclays Classic at Westchester Country Club.
"I regret having to miss such a prestigious and important tournament and I wish everybody there an enjoyable and successful week," Els said.
Els will return to the fairways for the third round of the FedEx Cup at the BMW Championship next week and will remain in America for the following week's TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola.
