Small number of tickets remain for PLAYERS PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -- Tournament officials at THE PLAYERS Championship announced Friday that a very small number of tickets remain for the 34th staging of the PGA TOUR's crown jewel event, and it is anticipated that by the end of this weekend, the tournament will be completely sold out for all four competition rounds (May 10-13). ![]() The new clubhouse at TPC Sawgrass streches to nearly 70,000 square feet. (WireImage) "THE PLAYERS Championship continues to receive great support from the community, and it's fast becoming a destination event for golf fans around the world," said Executive Director Brian Goin. "Even with the additional tickets we added this year, we should be at a sell-out situation by the end of the weekend. I'm excited that so many fans will soon be here to see and experience all that's new at this year's PLAYERS." The very limited number of tickets that are still available include weeklong grounds badges and daily passes for either Thursday or Sunday. Fans should call the ticket hotline number (904-285-7888) for more information, as tickets are no longer available at local Publix Supermarkets or online at tournament's website (www.playerschampionship.com). Fans who missed the chance to purchase tickets for tournament rounds can still experience THE PLAYERS during pre-tournament days (May 7-9). Tickets are available for purchase at the gate for $35, which is good for all three practice days, and parking at the general lot (on State Road 210, just off A1A and south of the course) is free Monday through Wednesday. Goin reports that parking passes are expected to sell out this weekend as well. While parking at TPC Sawgrass is free to the general public during practice rounds (May 7-9), beginning on Thursday, May 10, all on-site parking will require a parking pass that must be purchased in advance. Beginning Thursday, parking will be available free of charge at the University of North Florida (UNF Lot), where spectators will ride a complimentary shuttle to the tournament. The shuttles feature video programming about THE PLAYERS and volunteers who will answer questions and conduct prize giveaways. The UNF Lot is located off of J. Turner Butler Blvd. (Hwy 202) and Kernan Blvd. On Monday, May 7, a parking and weather hotline with the most up-to-date tournament-related information will go live at 904-280-2411. |
