AKRON, Ohio -- Tiger Woods won the World Golf Championships- Bridgestone Invitational for the sixth time at Firestone Golf Club on Sunday. Five times a player has won the same tournament six-plus times, but only three players have collected six victories on the same course.

• The players who have won a single event six or more times on the same course are: --Alex Ross, North & South Open six times at Pinehurst (1902, 1904, 1907, 1908, 1910, 1915)

• Sam Snead's eight wins in Greensboro included four at Starmount Forest CC and four at Sedgefield CC (1938, 1946, 1949, 1950, 1955, 1956, 1960, 1965). Harry Vardon's six wins at the Open Championship were on four different courses. Three of his wins came at Prestwick (1898, 1903, 1914) in Scotland, two at Royal St. Georges (1899, 1911) in England and his first victory in 1896 came at Muirfield in Scotland.

• Tiger Woods was the only player to post an under-par 72-hole total score this week at Firestone Golf Club, with his 8-under 272 total. It is the third time he has won a tournament in which no other person has finished under par. In the 2000 U.S. Open, Woods won at -3, while Phil Mickelson finished second at even par; and at the 2002 U.S. Open, Woods won at -12, while Ernie Els finished second at +3.

• With only Tiger Woods finishing in red numbers, the 2007 Bridgestone Invitational marks the fewest players finishing under par in a non-major since the 1995 TOUR Championship. Billy Mayfair won at even par over Steve Elkington and Corey Pavin (at +3).

• On nine occasions, a player has won immediately before a major and then followed up by winning the major. They are: Phil Mickelson (2006 BellSouth Classic, Masters), Sandy Lyle (1988 Greater Greensboro Open, Masters), Lee Trevino (1971 Canadian Open, Open Championship), Art Wall (1959 Azalea Open, Masters), Sam Snead (1949 Greater Greensboro Open, Masters), Ben Hogan (1946 Winnipeg Open, PGA Championship), Byron Nelson (1945 Chicago Victory Open, PGA Championship), Ralph Guldahl (1939 Greater Greensboro Open, Masters), and Henry Picard (1939 Scranton Open, PGA Championship).

• Despite missing nearly three months of 2007 due to back problems Justin Rose has fashioned an outstanding season on the PGA TOUR. He has collected six top-10s, including a runner-up finish this week at Firestone Country Club. Rose has also posted top-10s in two of the first three major championship events, a tie for fifth at the Masters and a tie for 10th at the U.S. Open. Rose, who has not made an appearance in the Bridgestone Invitational since 2003, moves to 20th in the FedExCup standings.

Chris DiMarco recorded his third top-10 finish in Akron with his tie for fourth Sunday at Firestone Country Club. It is his first top-10 of the season and his first since finishing runner-up last year at the Open Championship.

• Only one Bridgestone Invitational rookie finished in the top-10 at the Bridgestone Invitational: Andres Romero tied for sixth.

• In the nine-year history of the Bridgestone Invitational, Tiger Woods is the only player to enter the final round outside of the lead to come back to win. In 2001, he entered the final 18 holes two behind Jim Furyk before prevailing in a seven-hole playoff. In 2006, he was one-stroke back of Stewart Cink after 54-holes before defeating Cink in a four-hole playoff. This year he trailed Rory Sabbatini by one stroke through 54 holes and fired a closing 5-under 65 to win by eight strokes over Justin Rose and Rory Sabbatini.

• Tiger Woods' eight-stroke victory is the largest winning margin for the 2007 season. Last year Woods won the World Golf championships-CA Championship by eight strokes over Ian Poulter and Adam Scott.

• Tiger Woods recorded just the second bogey-free round of the week on Sunday; Arron Oberholser was bogey-free in round one.

• Tiger Woods has won 14 of 25 official World Golf Championships events, including six of the last eight dating back to the 2005 Bridgestone Invitational.

• Tiger Woods was the only player to post top-10 finishes in all three World Golf Championship events in 2007. He finished tied for ninth in the Accenture Match Play Championship and won the CA Championship and Bridgestone Invitational tournaments.

• Tiger Woods earned his 58th career PGA TOUR victory at the age of 31 years, 7 months and 6 days in his 226th (212th professional) career start on TOUR.

• He earned 4,725 FedExCup points remains at the top of the standings for the 14th consecutive week. He has collected 25,624 total points, 6,495 points ahead of Vijay Singh, the largest lead for any player for the FedExCup Regular season.

• He also defended his title for the second year in a row at the Bridgestone Invitational, and earned his fourth PGA TOUR victory in 12 starts THIS SEASON.

• Tiger Woods recorded his 14th official World Golf Championships victory in 25 starts and has now earned $18,532,500 in official money at World Golf Championships events. The win is his 12th in 17 individual stroke-play World Golf Championships events. He also has 23 top-10 finishes in the 25 starts.

• Those World Golf Championship victories came in the 1999, 2000, 2001, 2005, 2006 and 2007 Bridgestone Invitational; the 2003 and 2004 Accenture Match Play Championship; and the 1999, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2007 CA Championship. Woods also won the 2000 World Cup with David Duval in 2000, an unofficial money WGC event.

• Woods became the first player in tournament history to win the Bridgestone Invitational six times (1999, 2000, 2001, 2005, 2006, 2007), and is the only player to record top 10s in all nine Bridgestone Invitationals. Since the tournament's inception in 1999, he has never finished lower than fourth.

• In 36 career rounds at the Bridgestone Invitational, Tiger Woods has led following 15 of the rounds, including 15 of 32 at Firestone Country Club. He posted three rounds in the 60s this week, bringing his total at the Bridgestone Invitational to 26 of 36 rounds in the 60s, including 23 of 32 rounds in the 60s at Firestone Country Club's South Course. Every year he has opened with a round in the 60s at the Bridgestone Invitational

• He remains the tournament's all-time leading money winner with $7,952,500, and has surpassed the $7 million mark for the first time in a single event. With his Sunday paycheck of $1,350,000, he improved season earnings to $6,564,385. He also has surpassed the $72 million mark in career PGA TOUR Official Money with $72,276,709.

• His 58th career PGA TOUR victory is the fifth-most in TOUR history. Arnold Palmer stands in fourth with 62 victories.

• This is the 17th time he has won an event without holding the 54-hole lead, including three of his four victories in 2007. He came from two strokes back at the Buick Invitational and one stroke back of Rory Sabbatini at the Wachovia Championship.

• This is the 28th time he has won an event without holding the 36-hole lead, including two of his four victories in 2007. He came from seven strokes back through 36 holes at the Buick Invitational and came from four strokes back this week.
