| CA Championship Notebook: Woods is dominant MIAMI -- Tiger Woods has history on his side with wins in the World Golf Championships-CA Championship (formerly the American Express Championship) and at the PGA TOUR's stop at Doral Golf Resort & Spa. Woods has five victories in seven starts at the CA Championship and has captured the last two events at Doral, with four top 10s in four starts. Overall at official World Golf Championship events, Woods has won 12 of 23 events with 21 top 10s. Tiger Woods has nine consecutive top 10s (including seven wins) since missing the cut at last year's U.S. Open. Tiger Woods has dominated the Blue Monster course at Doral Golf Resort & Spa. Woods is a whopping 44 under par for his last two starts here, both wins. His scoring average for the past eight rounds is 66.5. Woods shot rounds of 65-70-63-66--264 (-24) to win in 2005 and carded rounds of 64-67-68-69--268 (-20) to win in 2006. Who's the top active leader in victories in the state of Florida? NOTES FROM THE 2006 AMERICAN EXPRESS CHAMPIONSHIP: Tiger Woods won his sixth consecutive PGA TOUR title at the 2006 WGC-American Express Championship for the second time in his career, and the first since the 1999-2000 seasons when he won six straight. The six consecutive were tied with Ben Hogan (1948) and Woods (1999-00) for second all-time behind Byron Nelson's 11. First-round 8-under-par 63 set the course record at The Grove and tied first 18-hole low in tournament history. The 127 first 36-hole total was the lowest in tournament history. Woods posted a 130 at Mount Juliet Conrad in 2002. The 5-stroke lead through 36 holes matched the tournament record. The 194 first 54-hole total was the lowest in tournament history. Woods posted a 197 at Mount Juliet Conrad in 2002. The 261 total set the 72-hole tournament record, and the eight-stroke win was the largest in tournament history. Tiger Woods won the event in wire-to-wire fashion (no ties) for the seventh time in his career on the PGA TOUR, including the second time at the WGC-American Express Championship.
