Accenture Match Play: Fifth-Round Notebook

MARANA, Ariz. -- The 36-hole championship match of the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship will tee off at 7:40 a.m. local time, with the second 18 holes of the match between Henrik Stenson and Geoff Ogilvy teeing off at 12:15 p.m. The 18-hole consolation match between Trevor Immelman and Chad Campbell is scheduled to begin at 11:50 a.m.

• Sweden's Henrik Stenson, Australia's Geoff Ogilvy, South Africa's Trevor Immelman and the USA's Chad Campbell comprised this year's Final Four. It was only the second time that each of the four semifinalists was from a different country. In 2001, it was Ernie Els (South Africa), Pierre Fulke (Sweden), Toru Taniguchi (Japan) and Steve Stricker (USA).

• Geoff Ogilvy won his 11th consecutive match at the Accenture Match Play Championship, beating Chad Campbell (3 & 2) to advance to the championship match for the second straight year. Ogilvy and Tiger Woods (2003-2004) are the only golfers to make the final match in consecutive years in this event.

• Through five matches, Henrik Stenson has trailed during only 35 of his 85 holes. Through five matches, Geoff Ogilvy has trailed in 13 of his 77 holes. Last year through five matches at LaCosta, Ogilvy trailed in 20 of his 95 holes.

• This marks the first time in the event's nine-year history that there has not been an American in the championship match. It is also the second time a player from Sweden has been in the final match, as Pierre Fulke of Sweden was in the final match in 2001. The only other countries represented in the final match are Northern Ireland (Darren Clarke, 2000), and Australia (Geoff Ogilvy, 2006).

• The Americans to make the final match are Jeff Maggert and Andrew Magee in 1999; Tiger Woods in 2000, 2003 and 2004; Steve Stricker in 2001; Kevin Sutherland and Scott McCarron in 2002; David Toms in 2003 and 2005; and Davis Love III in 2003 and 2006.

• To reach the finals, Henrick Stenson defeated Zach Johnson, 1-up; K.J. Choi, 2-up; Aaron Baddeley, 4 & 3; Nick O'Hern, 1-up; and Trevor Immelman, 3 & 2. Geoff Ogilvy got to the championship match by beating Steve Stricker, 4 & 3; Jose Maria Olazabal, 2 & 1; Niclas Fasth, 2 & 1; Paul Casey, 5 & 4; and Chad Campbell, 3 & 2.
