This week, the PGA TOUR heads to Scottsdale, Ariz., for the inaugural Fry's Electronics Open. Phil Mickelson will be making his first start since the Presidents Cup and will certainly be the fan favorite.

3The number of official PGA TOUR events played in the state of Arizona in 2007: the FBR Open at TPC Scottsdale, World Golf Championship-Accenture Match Play Championship at The Gallery at Dove Mountain (in Marana) and this week's Fry's Electronics Open at the Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale.
7The number of former winners of the U.S. Amateur that are in the field this week, including this year's winner Colt Knost (playing on a sponsor's exemption). The other previous winners are Ryan Moore (2004), Nick Flanagan (2003), Jeff Quinney (2000), Phil Mickelson (1991), Justin Leonard (1992) and Billy Mayfair (1987). There is also one son of a former U.S. Amateur winner, Kevin Stadler, son of Craig Stadler, who won the event in 1973.

2The highest ranked player entered in the Fry’s Electronics Open, according to the Official World Golf Rankings. This player is Phil Mickelson, who is also second on the official PGA TOUR Money List with $5.8M in winnings so far in 2007. Mickelson attended college at Arizona State University, just down the road from Grayhawk Golf Club. He is also the touring pro associated with Grayhawk, so he will surely be a local favorite this week.
7The total number of events in the PGA TOUR Fall Series, with a combined purse totaling just over $32 million.
12The cost, in dollars, of the ever-popular Barn Burger at Phil's Grill, the 19th hole at the Grayhawk Golf Club. Named after one Phil Mickelson, guests can enjoy a bite to eat after a day on the course, or perhaps a cold Mick (Michelob) Light from the bar. It also includes a collection of Lefty's memorabilia, including a golf bag from his childhood and mementos from Ryder Cup and Masters appearances.
13The number of strokes under par the winning score was in the last official PGA TOUR event held at Grayhawk Golf Club, the 2000 Target World Challenge. Tied with David Duval after the third round, Tom Lehman fired a 67 and emerged as the winner by three strokes over Duval, earning a cool $1 million for the win.
58The number of players in a field of 132 this week that are below 125th on the official money list. The top 125 money leaders earn a full exemption on the PGA TOUR for the 2008 season. There are only two official events left in 2007 after the Fry's Electronics Open.

1976The year Tom Fazio, designer of the Raptor Course at Grayhawk Golf Club, last had to pitch a project to a golf course developer (for the design of Pinehurst No. 6). Since then, his success has earned him a reputation as one of the world's most renowned course designers and more project requests than he could possibility facilitate. Fazio’s design firm currently uses an unlisted phone number and does not maintain a Web site or any other marketing or advertising venues.
