Recording 11 consecutive rounds in the 60s, Tiger Woods claimed the first FedExCup with a dominating performance in the Playoffs. In the three events he played, Woods was a combined 59 strokes below par and only carded 15 holes of bogey or worse in 216 attempts.
Woods' other statistics during the Playoffs are no less impressive, especially when compared to the overall Playoff averages of the top-30 players who made it to Atlanta. Woods ranked first in many of the ShotLink categories including: greens in regulation, proximity to the hole and par breaker percentage. However, Woods' dominance all started with his play from the tee.
In the three Playoff events, Woods' driving accuracy was over 70 percent -- 13 points higher than his regular season average of 57 percent. What makes this rate even more impressive was the fact that he was able to find the fairways while ranking second in average driving distance for all drives and exceeding his year to date average by approximately 5 yards. From these preferred lies Woods was able to hit more greens, put the ball closer to the hole on approach and ultimately create more scoring opportunities.
