Number Crunch: THE TOUR Championship

Sep. 12, 2007

It's all come down to this.

For the six players still in mathematical contention for the FedExCup, this could be a $10 million weekend. For those out of mathematical contention, it still could be a very profitable weekend.

Incidentally, here's an interesting tidbit for you pulled from the PGA TOUR E-Notes: The top four players entering this week's TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola --Tiger Woods, Steve Stricker, Phil Mickelson and Rory Sabbatini -- finished in exactly that order earlier this year at the Wachovia Championship.

NUMBER THAT COULD WIN YOU A BET

5The number of times in his career that Tiger Woods has had at least six wins in a season. His win Sunday at the BMW Championship was his sixth of 2007. Only Sam Snead, who won six or more events in a year six times, has done it more.

NUMBER THAT TWO PEOPLE HOPE STAYS THE SAME THIS WEEK

2The number of players that have recorded top-10 finishes in all three of the Playoff tournaments this year: Steve Stricker and Rory Sabbatini.
