Note: Six players must finish the second round Saturday morning.

• For the second consecutive tournament, Bill Haas has reached the halfway point at 9-under 135. At the Turning Stone Resort Championship a week ago, Haas put together opening rounds of 69-66 to sit in a tie for eighth through 36 holes. After shooting 68-67 in the first two rounds of the Viking Classic this week, Haas is tied for second.

• Bill Haas, in his second year on TOUR, has never recorded four rounds in the 60s at a PGA TOUR event.

Johnson Wagner's round of 65 Friday has the former Virginia Tech star playing on the weekend and in contention. After making eight of his first 10 cuts on the PGA TOUR this year, the TOUR rookie missed 13 of his next 14 before righting the ship with a tie for 12th at the Reno-Tahoe Open. Starting with that event, Wagner has carded 12 of his past 18 rounds in the 60s.

• Of the Viking Classics that have gone 72 holes, Steve Lowery (2000), John Huston (2003) and D.J. Trahan (2006) have led at the halfway point and gone on to win the tournament.

Jeff Overton's second-round 69 continues his good play of late. The PGA TOUR rookie has earned $511,333 of his total $768,097 in his past four events, thanks in part to a tie for second at the Wyndham Championship and a 12th-place finish at the Turning Stone Resort Championship.

Jay Delsing's second-round, 7-under 65 Friday matched his low round of 2007 and established a new low in relation to par. In the second round of the U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee in July, Delsing had a 65 on the par-70 Brown Deer Park Golf Course. Friday at Annandale Golf Club, Delsing had eight birdies and a bogey. He is tied for fifth.

Michael Allen saw his streak of five consecutive rounds in the 60s come to an end Friday. Following a 69-67-68-68 showing last week at the Turning Stone Resort Championship, Allen opened the Viking Classic with a 68. He was 3-under through seven holes in his second round Friday but had five bogeys and six pars over his last 11 holes to finish at 2-over 74.

Boo Weekley had a hole-in-one using an 8-iron on No. 12. It was the second consecutive year the 12th hole at Annandale has yielded an ace. Last year, Greg Kraft, also in the second round, had a hole-in-one there. It is the eighth ace in tournament history (the fifth at Annandale) since the PGA TOUR began tracking holes-in-one in 1971. The ace is also Weekley's first on the PGA TOUR.

• Six players have recorded nothing but under-par rounds in the first two events in the PGA TOUR's Fall Series -- the Turning Stone Resort Championship and the Viking Classic. Cameron Beckman, David Branshaw, Bill Haas, Charley Hoffman, Shaun Micheel and John Senden have six consecutive rounds of par or better beginning last week at the Turning Stone Resort Championship.

Fred Funk continued his fine play at the Viking Classic, opening with back-to-back 69s. He has 22 consecutive rounds below par at this event, going back to 1998. Of those 22, 18 have been in the 60s. Funk, the oldest player in the field at 51, has nine birdies to go with his three bogeys this week. .

Bo Van Pelt kept his Viking Classic under-par streak alive Friday. He has enjoyed 10 consecutive sub-72 rounds at Annandale Golf Club. Van Pelt began his streak in 2005. Marco Dawson (75) and D.J. Trahan (74) saw their streaks end at nine consecutive Friday.

• Friday's bogey-free rounds came from Michael Boyd (two birdies), David Branshaw (three birdies), and Bill Haas (five birdies). Branshaw has not had a bogey through 36 holes.

Chris Couch withdrew from the tournament prior to his Friday tee time. He is suffering from tendinitis. Joey Sindelar withdrew during the second round.

• Five former Viking Classic champions will make the cut. Leading the way is 2001 winner Cameron Beckman, who is at 9-under 135. Fred Funk, a two-time winner, is at 6 under.
