| Oct. 31, 2007Who could win? Tournament coverage T.J. Auclair PGATOUR.com Interactive Producer Pick: Joe Durant Durant is the defending champion at Disney -- a win in 2006 that went a long way in helping him lock up the top spot in the PGA TOUR Fall Finish. Since then, it's been rough times on the course for one of the game's nicest guys and purest of ball strikers. Without a single top-10 to his credit in 2007, Durant will be happy to return to a familiar place where he has great memories. Brett Avery The Fantasy Insider Pick: Lucas Glover Here's another guy grinding through the second half of the season, seemingly stuck on finishing between 10th and 20th since the Buick Open (six of his last 11 tournaments). The 2005 winner at Disney also tied for 10th in 2004. He's ranked seventh on TOUR this season in birdie average (3.81 per round), an advantage over a group of host courses where a 72-hole total in the low 260s has taken recent titles. Lauren Deason PGATOUR.com Editorial Coordinator Pick:Lucas Glover Glover probably shouldn't be a sleeper for the Children's Miracle Network Classic, especially considering he won the event in 2005 and played well enough this season to make The Presidents Cup squad, but he fits our criteria. Glover has played consistently throughout the year -- three top-10s, 13 top-25s, seven missed cuts -- but hasn't captured a win. Could this be his week? Melanie Hauser PGATOUR.com Correspondent Pick: Harrison Frazar I thought about Beemer, but he's relatively safe for 2008. Frazar needs this, big time. He's played well here before, and he can do it again. Dave Lagarde PGATOUR.com Correspondent Pick: Joe Durant The defending champion needs a strong finish to salvage a down season in 2007. Durant has yet to finish in the top 10, but he shot 25 under here last year. Muscle memory will take over. John Maginnes PGATOUR.com Contributor Pick: Harrison Frazar The trend of veteran players who need a good week continues in the Fall Series with Harrison. The fact that he is outside the top 125 is mind boggling. Expect Harrison to be the final veteran to make a big move late and squeak above the threshold. Helen Ross PGATOUR.com Chief of Correspondents Pick: Lucas Glover He's a former champion at Disney, and he's playing well with three top-10s and 13 finishes among the top 25 this year. He just hasn't put four rounds together -- but a return to a place where he's had success could just be the spark he needs. Dave Shedloski PGATOUR.com Senior Correspondent Pick: Lucas Glover He's been the sleeper pick du jour among many of our panelists all year, but his inability to sustain momentum through four rounds has held him back. The TOUR Insider says this might be the week to return to top dog status in a tournament -- and it's the one he's conquered before. The Presidents Cup bounce for Weir was pronounced. Maybe it's just been delayed for this young talent, who has the tools to not only string together good rounds, but wins. How about a victory here and another in Hawaii in January to get things rolling? |
