Strong Horse: Tiger Woods
3rd in FedExCup points

Woods lost in Cog Hill by two shots to Trevor Immelman last year, and he hasn't finished lower than seventh since 2001, when he was 20th.

With his second-place finish at the Deutsche Bank Championship, Woods lowered his average score for the year to 68.02, almost a full stroke better than second-place Ernie Els.

Strong Horse: Steve Stricker
2nd in FedExCup points

Stricker is arguably the hottest player in the game right now -- he's broken 70 in seven of his last eight rounds. Stricker -- always one of the best putters on TOUR -- has become even more deadly with the flatstick in the last two weeks.

He led the field in outing at The Barclays, and he's fifth in putting for the year, which helps offset his lack of distance (283 yards) and accuracy (63 percent) off the tee.

Stricker avoids slumps by relying on a pitching game that is probably the best on TOUR. He leads the TOUR in two key categories -- pitches from 100-125 yards and pitches from 50-125 yards. That skill makes Stricker dangerous on short par-fours and long par-fives.

Dark Horse: Sean O'Hair
58th in FedExCup points

O'Hair made it to the third week of the playoffs mainly because he managed to string together a pair of top-25s when he needed it most.

O'Hair quietly shot 68 in the final round of the Deutsche Bank Championship to move all the way up into a tie for ninth, moving him from 68th to 58th in the standings. He will have to make another strong run this week to ensure a spot in the TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola.

Since his second-round 80 in the U.S. Open (naturally, he missed the cut), O'Hair hasn't missed a weekend.

O'Hair is always a threat to go low, mainly because he is one of the longest straight hitters on TOUR. He is fifth in total driving, but he needs a hot putter in order to score.

Dark Horse: Bubba Watson
41st in FedExCup points

Watson's strong first half of the season shows how important it is to build FedExCup points early in the year.

The lefthander has made only $9,400 since his strong fifth at the U.S. Open in mid-June, and he's broken 70 once in the last six rounds.

Even with the recent struggles, Watson has never been in any danger of missing the BMW Championship, even though he hasn't made a cut since July. Watson has already shown that he is a streaky player, with four of his 2007 top-10s coming in a nine-tournament stretch.
