Aug. 27, 2007

Editor's note: Steve Stricker won The Barclays title on Sunday at the Westchester Country Club in Harrison, N.Y. It was the first time Sricker had played The Barclays in 12 years. Here are some of the e-mails PGATOUR.com received congratulating Stricker, who will head to Hawaii for the season-opening Mercedes-Benz Championship in 2008.

Congratulations on completing your comeback and becoming a TOUR champion once again. Best of luck in the FedExCup race. Ty

What a fabulous thrill to see your win today! Truly an inspirational story. God bless. Jerry

Congratulations on winning The Barclays! You are my favorite golfer, and I have been waiting all year for you to break through and get back in the winner's circle. Good luck the rest of the season, and GO ILLINI! Andrew

I am pulling for you to be the FedExCup champion. Jerry

Way to go, Steve. We were proud to see you represent Wisconsin so well. It's been a long time coming for you . . . savor and enjoy! Ed

Great job, Strick; and heartfelt congratulations from a fellow Fighting Illini (Class of 2004). Thanks for your continued support and involvement with the Illini Golf Program. You have started a historic run in the PGA TOUR's first-ever playoffs; and with Cog Hill in the mix, you have a truly excellent shot to win it all! Pulling for you to hoist the FedExCup and have a great Presidents Cup as well. OsKeeWowWow! Jim

Well done, Steve! Your perseverance and your heartfelt emotion at winning does all of us from Wisconsin proud! You've proven you've got game. Keep on winning! Kate

I have been following your career closely ever since your first PGA TOUR win, and you have always been my favorite player. I like the way you handle yourself both on and off the course. I know how difficult it must have been to lose your card a couple years ago, and the way you have come back is a great inspiration. Enjoy the victory with your family, and good luck with the rest of the FedExCup. I will be cheering for you. Randy

Great win, Steve! Have followed your career from day one, and I am so happy to see you back playing better than ever. Good luck the rest of the way in the FedExCup and the Presidents Cup! You've done Wisconsin proud. Beth

Way to go Steve. All your good Wisconsin hard-work ethic has paid off with a win well deserved! Good luck in the next three weeks going for the FedExCup. Don

Great win! I've followed your career since its beginning, and I knew you would win again. You are an inspiration to all of us 40+ guys. Best of luck in the future. Tom

Go Steve! Great win! I always knew you would get back in the winner's circle. Go get 'em in the FedExCup and Presidents Cup! Kris

We live in Lake Geneva and have followed you throughout your career. It is so nice to see you back on top. Only the best can climb the mountain twice. Jim

Fantastic win, Steve. I am a Milton, Wis., retired teacher and golf coach. All of Wisconsin is smiling for you tonight. Your hard work and determination are gaining you the success that you so deserve. Good luck in the rest of the FedExCup events and in the Presidents Cup. Rod

I have enjoyed watching you play this season, and I could tell it was just a matter of time. I always cheered for you back in 2000 and 2001, and I am glad to see you back on top of your game. I hope it continues and you win the first FedExCup. Keep it up. Scott

I have always followed your career. It is wonderful to see good guys finish first. I am really happy and proud of you. Perseverance always pays off. On Wisconsin, baby! Paul

I'm a fellow Wisconsinite who has followed your career through good times and bad for many years. I still don't know why you provoke so much emotion in your Wisconsin fans, but your victory today put us all on the highest high. Congratulations! Bill

Congrats Steve. I had tears in my eyes too! Being a former Cheesehead, I have followed your career from the start. You are a class act and a credit to your profession. Best of luck in the FedExCup race and in the future. Ron

Great job Steve! You've done Wisconsin proud. Good luck the rest of the season. Who knows, maybe a FedExCup trophy is in your future. Go Badgers! Keith

I've been a fan since your days playing on the Canadian Tour. Your even approach to the game and your calm nature served me well when I was introducing my two sons to the game. I often pointed you out to them as a fine example of how to comport yourself on the course. You're to be congratulated not only for your well-deserved win today but for the way you have handled the tough days in the past. Enjoy the moment and good luck in the rest of the FedExCup events! Dave
