HARRISON, N.Y. -- Come Sunday, 24 players will be the odd men out of the inaugural PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup.
Only the top 120 in the FedExCup standings at the end of The Barclays can play in next week's Deutsche Bank Championship. The top 144 were eligible to play in The Barclays, which kicked off the four-event Playoff series.

Nine of the players ranked between Nos. 121-144 in the standings were eliminated when The Barclays field was cut to the low 70s and ties on Friday. Among those were No. 122 Alex Cejka, No. 124 John Merrick, No. 136 Billy Andrade, No. 137 Anders Hansen, No. 138 Jesper Parnevik, No. 140 Shigeki Maruyama, No. 141 Michael Putnam, No. 142 Bob Tway and No. 144 Jeff Gove.
Andrade's fall was particularly frustrating since he appeared to be in good shape after opening with a 3-under 68. Andrade, who wanted dearly to play at the TPC Boston, just 45 minutes from his boyhood home, next week, shot 77 on Friday.
Tripp Isenhour, who ranked 135th entering the first Playoff event, had to withdraw Friday with a back injury while No. 130 Gavin Coles exited early Thursday with a neck injury. No. 126 Jason Bohn, who has a rib injury, and No. 133 Ryan Palmer, whose wife had surgery this week, didn't enter The Barclays, so they will also be facing an extended break.
That leaves 11 players remaining in the field and bidding to climb into the top 120. Mathew Goggin, who holds down the bubble spot, and Steve Allan, who stands 119th, are among those who must watch the weekend with interest from the sidelines after also missing the cut.
If the tournament had ended on Friday, both Goggin and Allan would have fallen out of the top 120 -- bumped out by Bill Haas, who had started the week at No. 125, and Rich Beem, who was 134th.

Beem fired a 68 on Friday to move into sole possession of second place at 10 under par, two strokes behind K.J. Choi. Haas also shot 4 under, for the second straight day, to leap into a tie for sixth at 6 under.
Projected FedExCup points at the midway point of The Barclays had Haas climbing to No. 107 and Beem settling in at 64th after a jump of 70 spots.
Doug Labelle II, who birdied his final hole on Friday to make the cut on the number, controls his own destiny at No. 121. He's guaranteed at least 95 FedExCup points, which could move him up one crucial spot.
Here's the minimum finish each of the remaining players ranked betwen Nos. 121-144 must have to survive, assuming other players hold their current position in the field:
