There were four eagles on No. 18 on Friday -- all by players who reached the green in two. Greg Owen had closest to the hole honors as he hit his approach shot 259 yards to four feet, six inches. Others making eagle on the hole were Mathias Gronberg, Charley Hoffman and Pat Perez. The best rounds of the day were turned in by Mathias Gronberg (T5) and Mark Wilson (T5). Both players jumped into the top-10 from T53 on the strength of their 4-under 66s. Davis Love III, despite a 4-over-par 74 on Friday, remained perfect at The Honda Classic by making his 13th consecutive cut at the event dating back to 1986. Love (T36) had a rough stretch on Friday that included four bogeys and a double bogey in a seven-hole stretch (Nos. 5-11). Love has five top-10s in 12 previous starts, including back-to-back runners up in 2003 and 2004. There have been no bogey-free rounds through the first 36 holes. Charlie Wi holds the first 36-hole lead/co-lead of his PGA TOUR career with a two-round total of 135. Wi's previous best position at the halfway point on the PGA TOUR was T3 at the 2007 Buick Invitational, where he finished T9. Robert Allenby holds a share of the 36-hole lead for the sixth time in his PGA TOUR career. He has won twice previously -- at the 2000 Shell Houston Open in a playoff over Craig Stadler, and at the 2001 Marconi Pennsylvania Classic. His last 36-hole lead/co-lead was at the 2006 Deutsche Bank Championship, where he finished T4. Charlie Wi rebounded from a triple bogey on his second hole (No. 11) to post three consecutive birdies (Nos. 12-14). Despite the triple bogey, Wi shot a 1-under-par 34 on the back nine. On the day, Wi had a triple bogey, three bogeys, and six birdies to shoot even-par 70 and head into the weekend at 5-under 135. Defending champion Luke Donald (T60) rebounded from an opening 77, posting a 67 on Friday to make the cut. Boo Weekley, who posted his first career top-10 at the Mayakoba Golf Classic, sits T10 through 36 holes. Daisuke Maruyama withdrew after nine holes on Friday due to illness after nine holes.
