Pebble Beach champ Oberholser out 4-6 weeks with back injury SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Arron Oberholser , the 2006 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am champion, will miss the next four to six weeks of the PGA TOUR schedule due to a bulging disc in his back. "This couldn't have happened at a worse time for me," said Oberholser, who recently became the playing staff representative for Dockers Golf. "Missing the chance to defend my AT&T title on my favorite courses in the world is just awful. I said last year this is my fifth major and I meant it. But right now I have to focus on the healing process, and that may take some time." Oberholser was forced to withdraw from his first appearance in the Mercedes Championships three weeks ago due to back pain, and an MRI last week revealed the full extent of the problem. He recovered fully from a previous similar injury, and his prognosis is good. He has begun therapy in the Phoenix area. |
