Woods aims for seventh straight win at Buick Invitational PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. -- When Tiger Woods makes his 2007 PGA TOUR FedExCup debut at the Buick Invitational in San Diego, he will be seeking his seventh consecutive TOUR victory dating back to last year's British Open. A win at the Buick Invitational would not only extend his streak to seven (which would be the second-longest in TOUR history), it would also be his third in a row at the tournament and his fifth overall. How has Tiger fared in his first start of the year?
What about his record at the Buick Invitational? It's just as impressive, maybe even more so.
Of course, when Tiger won six in a row over the course of late 1999 and early 2000, his streak came to an end at the Buick Invitational when Phil Mickelson topped both he and Shigeki Maruyama by four strokes. It should be a very interesting week in San Diego with Woods, Mickelson and Vijay Singh headlining a field that includes 17 players who won on the PGA TOUR in 2006. Copyright 2007 PGATOUR.com.
