CALIFORNIA VISITS -- The Nationwide Tour moves cross country to California for the first of three visits to the Golden State in 2007. This week's Livermore Valley event is followed by return trips in the fall for the Mark Christopher Charity Classic presented by The County of San Bernardino (Oct. 1-7) and the season-ending Nationwide Tour Championship at Barona Creek in San Diego (Nov. 1-4) where the 25 PGA TOUR cards for 2008 will be awarded.

HIGHLY RANKED -- Barona Creek Golf Club in San Diego, site of the Nationwide Tour Championship at Barona Creek, is the fifth-ranked "Public-Access Course" in California in Golfweek'srecently published listing of the country's best golf courses. Pebble Beach GL, Spyglass Hill, Pasatiempo and Rustic Canyon are the only courses ahead of Barona Creek.

GOLF CHANNEL -- The television home of the Nationwide Tour airs the first of 14 domestic tournaments in 2007 this week at Wente Vineyards. The Tour welcomes Grant Boone who be making his first appearance as host of a Nationwide Tour event. Former Nationwide Tour host Brian Anderson is now a broadcaster for the Milwaukee Brewers.

DID YOU KNOW? Three players have posted 59 in a Nationwide Tour event -- Notah Begay (1998), Doug Dunakey (1998) and Jason Gore (2005). South African Brenden Pappas flirted with 59 in the first round of last week's Chitimacha Louisiana Open. He parred the last two holes at Le Triomphe CC outside Lafayette, LA to shoot 11-under-par 60.
