SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The second round of the Nationwide Tour's Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr. Pepper was delayed by afternoon thunderstorms that dumped more than an inch of rain on Highland Springs Country Club.

Tournament officials deemed the course unplayable and decided to resume the second round at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday. Players will tee off in groups of three off of the 1st and 10th tees from 1:30-3:30 p.m. to begin the third round on Saturday.

On the course on Friday morning, Tom Scherrer celebrated his 37th birthday with a sensational bogey-free 9-under-par 63 that included a hole-in-one and currently holds a two-stroke lead over Justin Bolli.

The 2000 Kemper Open champion (PGA TOUR) and two-time winner on the Nationwide Tour said that a session with his instructor two weeks ago has been the key to improved putting and scores.

"I've played very well. My ball striking has been great, but my putting has been horrible for awhile now," said the University of North Carolina graduate. "This is what we work for -- to put ourselves in this spot. I'm going to have to keep playing well, especially at this tournament."

Justin Bolli shot a 6-under 66 and currently sits two strokes behind Scherrer. In 2006, Justin Bolli shot four consecutive rounds of 66 to finish at 24-under and tied for third. The winner of the 2004 Chattanooga Classic shot his second consecutive bogey-free round.

"I definitely have some confidence out here. I can really see my shots well at this course which is very important to me," he said. "You still have to play well and hit the ball straight, but it's fun to put up numbers out here."

Behind two top-10 finishes, Bolli ranks 20th on the money list this season. He led the Ft. Smith Classic by three strokes heading into the final round, but a 2-under-par 70 put him at T2.

At a course known for hosting some of the lowest scores of the year each season on the Nationwide Tour, players will have to shoot consistently low to stay in the hunt all four rounds. Highland Springs Country Club has ranked in the top three easiest courses in each of the past four seasons.

Second Round News & Notes: Scherrer had a hole in one at the 162-yard 13th hole, hitting an 8-iron .... The hole-in-one is the 14th in tournament history.... Chris Starkjohann withdrew before the start of his second round due to injury.
