Champions Tour Notes -- Week of August 6, 2007

Aug. 7, 2007

Jay Haas finished second last week at the 3M Championship for his eighth consecutive Top-10 finish. The finish allowed Haas to extend his lead in the Charles Schwab Cup race to 194 points over Brad Bryant.

• Eagle twos were recorded by consecutive groups on the 15th hole last Sunday at the 3M Championship. First, Chip Beck knocked in his second shot from 157 yards and in the following group, Jay Haas did the same from 180 yards.

• It should not have been a surprise that D.A. Weibring won last week's 3M Championship. Prior to last week, Weibring had nine sub-par rounds in nine starts at the event and added three more last week in winning.

• More on Weibring: The Illinois native has won a combined nine PGA TOUR or Champions Tour events in his career and six of them have come in the Midwest-- four in Illinois, one in Iowa and one in Minnesota.
