Vaughan makes two aces in one lucky day Bruce Vaughan had an odd occurance yesterday (Tuesday, 6/26), but he hopes his good fortune will continue into the weekend at the Commerce Bank Championship. Vaughan made a hole-in-one on the 14th hole of the White Course at Eisenhower Park en route to an 8-under 64. His score easily qualified him for the event and after calling his wife, Beverly, to give her the good news, she informed him that the USGA had called to let him know he was in the U.S. Senior Open next week in Wisconsin. A rookie on the Champions Tour this year, Vaughan then went out to play a practice round with buddy Mitch Adams, another open qualifier, on the Red Course at Eisenhower Park, the tournament venue. On the par-3 5th hole, Vaughan made another hole-in-one! "I guess I should have gone out and bought some lottery tickets last night", Vaughan said. "I've obviously never had anything like that happen before. Maybe this is a sign of good things to come over the next few days." |
